KTVN- TV just reported the fire at the east end of Cottontail in New Washoe City up in the hills has been held to about 4 acres and is under control.

RGJ.com reports:
“A small vegetation fire on the east side of Washoe Valley was quickly brought under control Monday afternoon by firefighters from Reno and Carson City.
The two-acre blaze, thought to be the result of a lightning strike, was reported about 2:56 p.m. on Bureau of Land Management property near the end of Cottontail Lane, Sierra [...]

RGJ reported on their site that at 3:13pm a brush fire has been reported near Washoe City in the vicinity of Todd court in the north valley. Now, at 3:43pm I can see no smoke fom my location in New Washoe City.
