This is from the Nevada Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources photo site and shows close up the defensible space work being done on the west side of the valley in cooperation of several other agencies and property owners. They plan to create a fire break between the natural area upslope to the west and the many homes that extend up into the foothills.
